Games Acquisitions Manager
We’re looking for a Games
Acquisitions Manager to help drive Curve’s future portfolio. Along with the VP
of Content, our new Games Acquisitions Manager will play a hugely important
part in shaping Curve’s line-up over the coming years, ensuring we entertain
our army of fans worldwide. Meeting developers at trade events, maintaining a
Little Black Book of the hottest game dev talent or even trawling the hidden
reaches of the Internet to discover the next Human: Fall Flat – being able to
spot what will make a hit years-ahead of release.
Reporting to the VP of Partnerships, the Games Acquisitions Manager will be responsible for:
Evangelist of Curve Digital internally
and externally
- Heightening the
profile of Curve Digital to the indie community, establishing it as the
destination that independent development teams and studios approach to partner
with.
- Promoting our projects
internally with a view to maximise collaboration and value addition from other
internal departments
- Contributing
to the creation of internal presentations to gain approvals and provide status
updates.
Outreach
- Owning the outreach for the indie scene for Curve Digital.
- The initial point of contact for our many inbound enquires.
- Proactively making contact with developers working on games that are of intertest to us.
- Contributing to the successful running of the Content Planning process and all associated meetings.
- Contributing to the evolution of the Curve Digital’s content acquisition strategy and process.
- Driving the initial due diligence process – studio background, key individuals, reputation, evaluation of builds etc.
- Managing the events calendar, it’s bookings and attend industry events where appropriate.
Developer Relations and Contract Negotiations
- Maintaining ongoing business relationships with development partners.
- Contributing to the successful execution of publishing agreements with Curve digital’s partners.
- Ensuring Curve digital’s agreements are kept up to date and communicate key terms to team members.
Requirement
What
we want from you:
- Previous experience in a similar role within the video
games industry (project management, business development, journalist, developer
etc.)
- Our ideal candidate loves games – with an encyclopaedic
knowledge of all types, platforms and genres and ideally an established network
within the industry.
- An experienced
communicator who is able to build consensus.
- Excellent relationship
building and account management skills.
- An understanding and
willingness to learn the video games development and publishing processes.
- Understanding a publishing agreement would be beneficial – and a track record in acquisitions a real bonus.
- Team focused, enthusiastic, organised, creative, committed, sense of humour and career minded.
- Excellent presentation
skills and able to adapt to different audiences, e.g. developers, executive
management, publishing partners, press and consumers.
- Flexible and able to
react quickly, reschedule and prioritise workload.
